What's New for ID

Added past due and specific financial update information:
The Past Due and Nonaccrual Asset Report now includes loans and leases for which repayment of principal is wholly or partially guaranteed or insured by the U.S. Government, including its agencies and its government-sponsored agencies. The totals are listed for 30-89 days past due, 90 days or more past due and nonaccrual loan categories. The maximum amount recoverable and the rebooked GNMA loans are also available. They are listed on the report as memoranda only and are included the corresponding totals.

The Noncurrent Loans to Loans Report now includes the ratio for U.S. Government guaranteed noncurrent loans as a percent of total noncurrent loans and leases.

All data presented reflect the highest level of consolidation (e.g., domestic and foreign operations) unless otherwise indicated. This information is stored on and retrieved from the FDIC's Research Information System database (RIS).

Demographic download Changes and Metropolitan Statistical Areas (Mass) Updates:
The Docket number for savings institutions regulated by the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) has been added to the demographic download on the Institution Directory (ID). As a result, some of the data columns have moved in the download. As you download, please consult the Download Instructions page on ID.

The Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) values have been updated based on the 2000 Census designations in both FDIC Institution Directory (ID) and the Statistics on Depository Institutions (SDI). These areas correspond to the state / county / CBSA relationships as defined by the Census Bureau. For the purpose of ID, SDI and the Summary of Deposits (SOD), the new MSAs reflect only the CBSA names and codes for metropolitan areas (METRO=1). Metropolitan Areas and Metropolitan Divisions are excluded for publication purposes. The new MSA values are represented as CBSA_METRO and CBSA_METRO_NAME in the data downloads. The old MSA data field is available in the ID download file accessible via the Download ALL link at the bottom of the Find Institutions page. Custom Peers in SDI based on old MSA values will currently return no data and will eventually be deleted. New custom peers will need to be created with the new MSA designations.

A few Deposit Report Memoranda items have been updated regarding the reporting of retirement accounts, see Deposit Report definitions.
